Crested Butte Arts Festival
August kicks off with the 45th Annual Crested Butte Arts Festival August 4th – 6th. Over 150 artists from around the world participate in this festival, making it a truly remarkable event. Exhibitors take over Elk Avenue, and welcome the public to take an up close look at the artwork, while getting to know the artists directly. Delicious cuisine, live music, plus activities for the kids allow the entire family to enjoy the festivities. Tours Available
Irwin Guides is offering Bikes & Beers tours of the most iconic trails in the valley. See the sights and get a guided look at how the pros handle some of the best single track trails in the state. A free Irwin Brew will be waiting for you upon your return!
Every Tuesday and Thursday through the summer, the Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum offers a Historic Walking Tour. Open to all, this informative and interesting stroll through history is a local favorite. Crested Butte is rich with tales of the mining days, and the first settlers in this majestic valley. Groups are welcome.
KBUT Kampout
Rounding out this month, the valley’s beloved non-profit radio station, and community support system is holding it’s annual fundraiser at the I-Bar Ranch, August 25th& 26th. An event not to be missed, the KBUT Kampout is a two-day festival boasting an eclectic line up of bands and DJ’s from all corners of the state. Bring your dancing shoes and enjoy camping, music, and local food favorites while helping keep KBUT alive in Gunnison Valley!
